Bishop Benson extols Ekwunife, blesses project site for a 3 bedroom bungalow in Adazi-Nnukwu

The Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Jonas Benson Okoye has extolled Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) for hearkening to the plight of members of her constituency by facilitating the construction of 3-bedroom bungalows for some less privileged people in her Senatorial District and attracting other notable projects to the constituency.

The Bishop said this on Tuesday while blessing the site of the ongoing construction of a 3-bedroom bungalow for Mr Chizoba Nduagubu and his family at Adazi-Nnukwu in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The building is one of the three-bedroom bungalows being facilitated by Senator Ekwunife for selected beneficiaries in the Senatorial District.

Speaking at the event, Bishop Okoye appreciated Senator Ekwunife for her giant strides in the 9th Senate, particularly in the area of addressing the needs of her constituents through facilitation of laudable projects in the constituency. He noted that the Senator has through her good works shown that those elected to public office can serve with a sense of humanity as well as accountability.

“I am most impressed by the efforts being put in by Senator Ekwunife in the discharge of her responsibilities as the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District. When I first heard about this project, I was excited because a project that puts a roof over the head of a family who otherwise cannot afford a decent shelter goes to the heart of humanity. The Senator has by her actions shown that she is service-oriented”, the Bishop said.

The Bishop further called for prayers for the Senator as she strives to address the yearning of her constituents through the delivery of quality representation. He prayed for God’s sustenance upon her and wished her success in all her endeavors.

In his remark, the President General of Adazi-Nnukwu, Chief Francis Madubuike who was represented by the Public Relations Officer of the community, Mr Obiora Egbunilo appreciated the Senator and described the building project as laudable. He noted that Adazi-Nnukwu is solidly behind the Senator as she strives to address the developmental needs of her constituents.

On his part, the member representing Anaocha I Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon Ebele Ejiofor thanked the Senator for her concern towards Ndi Anambra, particularly the people of her Senatorial District. He described the Senator as a Super Performer, and noted that she has through her unmatched delivery of dividends of democracy taken legislative representation to the next level.

The beneficiary, Mr Chizoba Nduagubu who could not hide his joy over the development expressed his gratitude to the Senator on behalf of the entire Nduagubu family. He described the Senator as “Oji Uno Eme Ogo” and prayed for God’s continuous blessings upon her.

Also notably present at the event include, the Director of Project Anambra Central Senatorial District Liaison Office and Former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Lady Henrietta Agbata, Former Chairman ASUBEB, Dr Rose Nwankwo, the Legislative Assistant to the Senator, Mrs Ifeyinwa Chinwuko, Some Ward Executives of PDP among others.
