Campaign Against Drug Abuse: We Must Be Strategic – Mrs Soludo

Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has explained that to win the fight against illicit drug use, smarter strategies must be employed while all stakeholders must show more sincerity to the campaign.

Mrs Soludo, who was speaking in Awka, noted that there is a need to bridge the communication and job gaps between both regulators and advocates, not excluding caregivers and every other person who is making efforts to checkmate the trend.

The governor’s wife, who is a War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) Ambassador, stated that by having common and accessible work links, the campaign is made easier while there would be a more coordinated approach, emerging from varying inputs of each stakeholder to winning the war.

She further explained that the dichotomy among drug war advocates must be completely eliminated, if the campaign must bear desired fruits, stating that everyone has an important role to play in the whole process.

Mrs Soludo, who restated her disturbance over the increasing rate of illicit drug use among teenagers and school children, called on parents, schools, community and religious leaders, and other important partners to up their commitment to the campaign, knowing that the society depends largely on the results of their efforts.

The Governor’s wife also reaffirmed her commitment to leading the campaign to all corners of Anambra State, pointing out that as a mother, she feels the responsibility of ensuring that every Anambra child is protected from all forms of social wrecks, including drug abuse, trafficking, domestic abuse and child labour, among others.
