The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, congratulated Bishop of Ekwulobia, Peter Okpaleke, on being sworn in as a cardinal by Pope Francis in the Vatican City.
Okpaleke was part of the 20 new cardinals sworn in on Saturday.
Tinubu posted Okpaleke’s picture on his Facebook page, congratulating him, while stating that the elevation is an honour to Nigeria.
He wrote, “I most heartily congratulate Bishop Peter Ebere Okpaleke on his ordainment as a Cardinal. This deserving elevation is not one just for the Bishop, but an honour to all Nigerians but most especially, the Catholic Church and the wider Christian community.”
