…Targets over 2000 free surgeries; To Register aged into Health Insurance Scheme(HIS)
The 4th Engr Chris Azubogu Medical Outreach will begin today at four centres simultaneously.
Already, a team of about 80 medical personnel that include Surgeons, Ophthalmologists, Physicians, Pharmacists, Lab Scientists etc under the platform ‘Doctors On The Move Africa’ led by Dr. Kibu have arrived Anambra State yesterday for the Medical Outreach.
The member representing Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu (Mr Project) stated that his medical Outreach is in line with his parliamentary engagement which is geared towards using instrumentalities of the Govt to intervene on the needs of the people and the society.
“What we are doing is not accident, but in line with our deliberate effort to improve the wellbeing of our people”.

Azubogu has been a strong player in health sector development in Anambra State with evidence on building Healthcare facilities, facilitating key infrastructures for various existing Hospitals and majorly, his role in construction of various buildings at the Permanent site of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) and also, construction of 6km access road with bridge to the NAUTH perm site and today his 4th Medical Outreach will kick start at the following venues:
(1) Joint Hospital, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo LGA.
(2) Diocesan Hospital, Amichi in Nnewi South LGA.
(3) General Hospital Ukpor, Nnewi South LGA.
(4) Diocesan Hospital Akwudo(Nnewi) Nnewi North LGA.
It is on record that his last Outreach tagged ‘3rd Engr Chris Azubogu medical Outreach’ ended with these records:
● 7723 recorded cases attended to.
● 4810 free Medical glasses issued.
● 265 Eye surgeries.
● 216 other various surgeries
● 3525 Laboratory diagnosis.
● 434 Scans
The man known as ‘Mr Project’, disclosed that this year’s Outreach is expected to be an improved version of previous years. He added that they are also working out modality to key some aged members of Into Health Insurance which he said is a new norm.
“Our effort is targeted towards making this year an improved version of the previous ones. Beyond this, we are working out some modalities to register our aged ones into Health Insurance Scheme (HIS)” he said.
According to Mrs Ngozi Okeke who is already at one of the Centres, Joint Hospital Ozubulu:
