Chichi Nworah’s series “Shanty Town” has been nominated for 10 awards at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). The Netflix original series was released in January and has received critical acclaim.
The nominations come shortly after an audience survey conducted by legit.ng ranked “Shanty Town” as the most popular Nollywood film released in 2023.
The series’ nominations include Best Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Sound Track. The series stars Ini Edo, Chidi Mokeme, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Mercy Eke, and others.
The series will compete with other big films, including Anikulapo, Brotherhood, Ageshinkole, Battle on Buka Street, Ile Owo, and Four Forty-Four.
Chichi Nworah, the CEO of Giant Creative Studios, has previously produced successful films, including Hot Girl Next Door and Betty’s Love Triangle. “Shanty Town” is part of her mission to tell a local story with global artistry.
