Confusion in Imo State as Labour Party Holds Factional Governorship Primaries

The Labour Party’s governorship primary in Imo State has caused confusion, as three factions held elections in different locations throughout the state. According to a reliable source, about ten of the aspirants and their delegates settled for the Landmark Event Centre at New Owerri, while three others had their elections along MCC road, Urata in Owerri.

Meanwhile, the party’s Presidential candidate and screening committee chairman for the State Congress election, Mr Peter Obi, has allegedly identified with one of the factions.

Among those who are vying for the Labour Party’s governorship ticket and have secured the nomination forms are Major General Lincoln Jack Ogunewe (retd), Senator Athan Achonu, Martin Agbaso, and Chief Joseph Ukaegbu. Others include Tochi J. Ehirim, Ike Ibe, Kelechi Nwagwu, Basil Maduka, Chinedu Amadi, AIG Charles Agomuo (retd), Capt David Mbamara (retd), and Chief C. Ishiguzo.
