I felicitate with my brother, my leader and friend – the President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, CON, PhD who celebrates his birthday today.
The saying that Leadership requires a deep sense of purpose and responsibility is unequivocally true, particularly for any institution that is designed to succeed. Distinguished Senator Dr. Ahmad Lawan has by every standard exemplified the deepest sense of courage, purpose and responsibility in the discharge of his duties as the President of the Senate. His bi-partisan approach to national discourse and commitment to nation building can best be described by every one of us who has benefitted from his unique leadership traits, as unparalleled and most inspiring.
This is a Senate President who has guarded the sanctity of our hallowed chamber with diginity and prestige, resulting in the production of quality and people-oriented legislative interventions from the 9th Senate in the past 19 months he has held sway.
My Distinguished Senate President today’s celebration which marks your 62nd birth anniversary reminds some of us that it doesn’t take a thousand years to make impactful contributions to humanity. You have through the judicious use of the privileges of your office shown that you are truly committed to the Nigerian project and we cannot but celebrate you for your feats and accomplishments both as our President and Leader in the National Assembly.
On this special occasion of your birthday, I join all well meaning Nigerians, and the constituents of my Senatorial District – Anambra Central to celebrate you. May this year’s birth anniversary bring you joy, happiness and all round promotion and success. May you succeed where your predecessors failed, as you continue to steer the affairs of the 9th Senate with passion, dedication and love.
