The leading governorship aspirant for the November 6 election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Ekwunife on Friday, March 12, 2021, alongside her beloved husband Chief Larry Ekwunife (Ochendo) condoled with the family of late Dr. Basil Nwankwo.
The late Dr. Basil Nwankwo was until his death, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Amaku, Awka. The deceased was a native of Ifite-Dunu, Dunukofia LGA, Anambra state.
In her condolence message, Ekwunife expressed sadness over the death of the deceased. She described the demise of the late medic as unfortunate. She said that the deceased rose to the peak of his profession and achieved a lot as the CMD of the State University Teaching Hospital. Ekwunife prayed God to grant eternal rest to the deceased.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Rev. Fr. Cyprian Adigwe who is the in-law to the deceased family thanked the family of Chief and Senator Mrs. Larry Ekwunife for coming to mourn with the late Dr. Nwankwo’s family. The cleric noted that the family were pained but have accepted the loss. He told Ekwunife that friends and well-wishers of the deceased will be duly informed of the funeral plans. He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology also on behalf of the family and the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District extended condolences to the government of Anambra state over the death of the late CMD who was until his death an appointee of government.
