Ekwusigo PDP Secretariat Agog As Ekwunife Visits Party Delegates

In continuation of her tour of local government areas in Anambra, the frontline PDP gubernatorial aspirant for the November 6 election, Senator Uche Ekwunife visited Ekwusigo local government to seek the support of party delegates.

The Senator and her entourage was received with enthusiasm by the PDP Chairman of the LGA, Engr Chigozie Igwe, other members of the executive in the LGA and wards as well as some stakeholders of the party.

Speaking during the visit, Ekwunife recognized Ekwusigo council area as one that produced Dr V. I Okoye as the first female LG Chairman in Anambra State in 1999, noting that it shows their believe in the capabilities of women in governance.

Ekwunife reminded the delegates that apart from knowing the challenges facing the state and its solutions, there was a clamour for change. According to her, she has the perfect winning combination to make the desirable change the state needs at this time. She noted that there is a season for everything and this is the season for a woman to show her managerial abilities as governor.

The Senator said that the most important aspect of the upcoming election is for PDP to field a winnable candidate who can take the party to Agu Awka saying that no matter how good the blueprint is, the party has to win to implement it. She further advised that the party has to field an aspirant with antecedents, capacity, pedigree, zeal and trajectory of success to do the heinous task.

On his part, the chairman of the party, Engr Igwe described Ekwunife as the only candidate in the race who has given tips on how she will win the election for PDP if given the ticket. He noted that her capacity to achieve victory for the party is never in doubt, and acknowledged her positive antecedents and track records as a great asset for the PDP.

Dignitaries that accompanied the Senator were the Senator representing Oyo South, Sen. Kola Balogun, former member of house of representatives, Hon Micah Umoh, former commissioner for women affairs Anambra State, Lady Henrietta Agbata, fomer member of the State Assembly, Hon Dimobi Joseph, former Accountant General of Anambra State, Mrs Helen Nwaeri, former commissioner for commerce and industry, Hon Ken Arinze, former commissioner for women affairs, Hon Bridget Obi, former Managing Director Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Chief Victor Okpoko, former Director of DSS, Chief Tony Okoye, Chief Chuka Obiesie (Ezeani Obidigbo na Neni), Dr Obi Anyaayo, Hon Humphrey Iloh amongst others.
