Fresh leadership battle looms in APGA as Oye’s camp pushes for Umeh’s expulsion from the party

There is a secret plot to embarrass Chief Senator Victor Umeh from APGA. Those behind the plot are loyalists of Ozo Victor Oye, the embattled National Chairman of APGA.

The recent procured endorsement and vote of confidence being passed on Victor Ike Oye by various zonal leadership of APGA is part of the ongoing plot to expel Umeh from APGA

The media team of Oye had issued a warning alleging that an APGA leader had sent emissaries led by one Polycarp to Kaduna to mobilise the 19 state Chairmen of APGA to sign a document that would be used in court to secure an injunction sacking Oye.

They claimed in their report that the plot leaked and Oye mobilised his men into the Kaduna meeting and hijacked the process. In what would have been a meeting to remove Oye turned out to become a rallying point for the embattled national chairman.

While the Kaduna meeting was causing stir, Umeh travelled to Abia state and held a meeting with Dr Alex Otti who had resigned from APGA some months ago and decamped to APC. At the end of the meeting between Otti and Umeh, the duo moved to the country home of Senator Orji Uzo Kalu for a courtesy visit.

In that meeting, Otti told Orji Uzo Kalu that he is joining APC in order to remove evil from Abia state. The confusion is why Umeh led Otti to Orji Kalu’s house to declare for APC.

The meeting with Otti is unsettling the camp of Oye. However, Oye’s camp is now using one CHILAGOROM Ifeanyi the DG, APGA New Media Imo state and Publicity Secretary Coalition of Nigerian Youths in APGA to fight Umeh.

The Imo man has disclosed their plans to expel Umeh from APGA. Just yesterday, the DG, APGA New Media Imo state issued a statement calling on the ward chairman of Aguluzigbo to initiate the process of expelling Chief Victor Umeh from APGA. He accused Umeh of sabotaging the efforts of Ozo Victor Ike Oye.

While extolling Oye, the Imo new media DG said Umeh is selfish and ungrateful.

Umeh and Oye have never been the best of friends. They have maintained a cat and rat relationship with each watching the other carefully and cautiously.

Sometime ago, an inlaw to Oye who doubles as the National Youth Leader of APGA, one Anselem Chinedu Nebeife led a protest against Umeh. In that protest, they carried banners in which they called all kinds of names and abuses.
