Abdulmumin Jibrin, a newly elected member of the House of Representatives, has stated that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has taught a political lesson to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state.
According to Jibrin, some dissatisfied APC members who joined the NNPP were responsible for teaching the lesson during the 2023 general election, where the NNPP emerged victorious over the ruling APC in the Kano governorship election held on March 18.
Jibrin spoke about this on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he noted that Governor Ganduje had worked to exclude many members of the APC from the party, which prompted them to join forces and form the NNPP.
He claimed that this move allowed them to teach the governor and other members of the APC a lesson they would never forget.
Jibrin added that their actions resulted in the APC losing 18 members of the House of Representatives, as well as 34 State Assembly members, including some highly skilled lawmakers.
He emphasized that the loss was due to a vote against Governor Ganduje and his policies.
