The Senator representing Anambra South and National Leader of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on Thursday, clocked forty-nine years. The celebration which took place in his hometown Nnewi was ushered in by a thanksgiving Mass at St. Peter’s Catholic Church field, Otolo Nnewi. During the thanksgiving, the Senator appreciated God for his blessings, guidance and protection over the years. He also thanked his family for their overwhelming support and used the opportunity to reassure the people that he remain tireless towards human capacity building and community development.
After the mass, the Senator proceeded to a get-together with people living with various forms of disabilities who gathered en masse to celebrate with him at the church field. During the meeting, the Senator thanked them for the honour they showed him by choosing to celebrate with him. He further informed them that there is always an ability in disability and urged them to remain diligent and never lose hope as heaven will always bless their efforts. After addressing them, the Senator presented wheel chairs, clutches, special walking sticks, bags of rice, cartons of noodles and brand new Android smartphones that are capable of serving their mobile phone and internet needs seamlessly regardless of their disabilities. He also appointed one of them Comrade Amobi Okonkwo as his Senior Special Assistant on People Living With Disabilities.
Responding, the group represented by Comrade Okonkwo expressed their appreciation to the Senator for choosing to celebrate with them despite their physical conditions and commended him for such uncommon humility. They further prayed God to bless the humility exhibited by the Senator with more guidance, protection and by giving special attention to his heart desires. They also maintained that despite their physical conditions, they will always give him maximum support to keep representing ndị Anambra South, ụmụ ọma Anambra State and Nigerians in general well at the National Assembly or anywhere duty calls.
Activities marking the celebration also include handing over of brand new vehicles to some people and three staff of his political office by Senator Ubah.
