Yesterday, the Commissioner for Information Anambra state, C Don Adinuba while speaking to the media at Awka stated that the inauguration of Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo on March 17, will be brief.
He said it will last only about 20 minutes with very few persons, about 50, few family members, friends and party leaders. It will be followed by light refreshment.
The implication of the above is that Prof Soludo will run a lean govt. Very few aides and small cabinet members.
What then will happen to over 2000 political appointees that have been in Obiano administration in the last 8 years? Is hunger looming in APGA?
Aguleri alone has over 500 political appointees who has no office and no brief. They hang around all hotels and joints at Awka living big on public fund.
Victor Oye is not a good man either. Those who worked with him as aides or rather who come here daily to defend him and APGA have complained bitterly of how nonchalant he is to their welfare. The last APGA media team was paid 10,000 stipend monthly and nothing more.
Hunger is looming in APGA. Easing all these appointees out without any plan to cushion the effect knowing that 80% of them depend on their salary to put food on the table and pay their bills will be counter productive.
