Ndubisi Kanu: A Lover of Democracy – Onyejeocha

With deepest sympathies and on behalf of the good people of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, I mourn the passing of one of our heros, Rear Admiral Ndubisi Kanu, Retd.

Even at 77, Gov. Ndubisi was a great asset whose death came as a huge shock.

Despite attaining enviable heights in his military career, including becoming military governor of Lagos and Imo states, Rear Admiral Ndubisi Kanu Retd. made no pretense about his staunch belief in democratic principles and ideals.

He demonstrated this love for democracy, freedom and civil rule by dedicating the rest of his life to the protection, enrichment and advancements of human rights.

The death of Ndubisi Kanu is such a huge loss for us at Isuikwato/Ummuneochi, Abia State and indeed the nation at large. Every lover of democracy would certainly find his demise really painful.

I pray that the immediate family, friends and close associates of the former governor find the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Adieu
