John Ikeotuonye is the fifth son of statesman and educationist, late Hon. VC Ikeotuonye of (Zixton) Ofufe-Nza Ozubulu. He attended amongst other schools, Dennis Memorial Grammar School, DMGS Onitsha and graduated with honours from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife.
Upon gradation, he worked with reputable organisations, such as Glo mobile and British American Tobacco, where he became distinguished as an ace Marketing Manager, having built a considerable network of stakeholders in the hospitality and entertainment industry.
Not long afterwards, he went into private ventures with big brands like the Signature group in hospitality, entertainment and media industry. He later formed his own outfit, under the auspices of the Eden Culture and Merge group of companies, which has taken leading strides in PR Consulting, Events Management, Entertainment and Media industry. Besides these, John is a partner in a fast growing investment and financial consulting services company.
As a person with prolific interests, John Ikeotuonye is also a recording artist and gospel music producer, under the label of Rectitude Records. He has not only recorded numerous songs and albums but has also sponsored and signed on a number of promising artistes looking to revolutionalise the gospel music industry. His NGO, Churchoustide is an initiative aimed at reaching the inner cities and religiously disenfranchised with the positive message of hope, salvation and practical christianity.
As a role model for the next generation, John Ikeotuonye also known as CDO is an avid lover of football just like his father, the late VC Ikeotuonye of renown and blessed memory. He initiated and sponsored the the Hon VC Ikeotuonye Challenge cup, which was an annual event and is presently working with stakeholders to build a games village of international standard that will empower Anambra youths through Sports and other forms of wholesome and creative activities.
In addition to all these, CDO is also engaged in a communal level of youth empowerment, bearing out the age old maxim that “Charity begins at home”. His numerous projects include road repairs, micro business sponsorships, scholarship grants, rural power projects and individual welfare packages.
