Soludo vs Ibeto: Did Obinna Ngonadi resign or was he sacked?

There seems to be a cold war between Chief Cletus Ibeto, the Nnewi-born billionaire and Charlie Nwa Mgbafor.

A lot has happened between the two since the inauguration on March 17, 2022.

But we are looking at the plight of Hon Obinna Ngonadi, who is the godson of Dr Cletus Ibeto. It was Ibeto who nominated Hon Ngonadi into the administration of Nwa Mgbafor. He was initially made the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry.

And that’s a lucrative ministry. Someone in charge of the markets, industries and all the trades in the state. But in less than 6 months, the governor unbundled the ministry, removed him from the lucrative portfolio of Trade and Commerce and left him with only the Ministry of Industry.

Yesterday, the Office of the Governor announced a new replacement for the Ministry of Industry. According to AIF Media investigation, the new commissioner is from the same ward and LGA as Ngonadi.

The statement stated that the new commissioner, Mr Christian Chukwudozie Udechukwu “replaces Dr Obinna Ngonadi who previously held forth in that position.”

The cold war between Nwa Mgbafor and Ibeto may be behind the present predicament of Hon Ngonadi.

Recall that Ibeto’s nominee for the chairmanship of Nnewi North LGA was also removed after an allegation linking him to the death of his wife. He was not replaced with another of Ibeto’s allies.

Hon Ngonadi has refused to speak through our sources if he was sacked or if he resigned from his position in the govt.
