AYAMELUM – Communities in Ayamelu Local Government Area of Anambra State on Tuesday came out in their numbers to welcome Dr Tony Nwoye to their community and to appreciate him for his intervention on Onitsha-Otuocha-Anaku-Adani Road by attracting Federal Government to the road.

Recently, a journey on that road to all the communities on that axis and to Enugu State has become like one to Golgotha. It is a pure nightmare for the people.

But all that now is going to change and the agrarian community is going to be livley again as Dr Tony Nwoye has brought the attention of Federal Government to the plight of Ayamelu communities.

According to Dr Tony Nwoye, The Lot 1 of the road which stretches from Anaku-Adani has been awarded through Federal Government Covid-19 Special intervention Fund. In three months time, a reputable Construction Company will move in to finish the Lot 1 of the road in due time.

Dr Tony Nwoye said the Lot 2 of the road will be included in 2021 Appropriation Bill so that full section of the road will be completed.

Dr Tony Nwoye thanked President Muhammad Buhari and Hon Minister of Works, His Excellency, Barr Raji Fashola for granting this special request for the agrarian communities of Ayamelu and Adani.

One of the Youth Leaders of the community, Mr OJ Udemzue thanked Dr Tony Nwoye for this wonderful gesture he has done for the people of Ayamelu. He said said Dr Tony Nwoye is a testimony of how God can use an individual to transform the lives of a people. He narrated how it has become a nightmare for his people to access their farmland and even to take their farm produce to markets. He prayed that God will continue to bless and keep Dr Tony Nwoye for them.

The community

Hon Jideofor Ejimofor said that Dr Tony Nwoye has always shown great compassion for their people, mostly those at the grassroot and prayed God for his safety at all times. He recounted how bad the road has become in recent time. He believed with this intervention by Federal Government and by President Muhammad Buhari, their people will access their farmland and take their produce to market and He believed that income from their farm produce will appreciate greatly when the road was completed. The road is going to bring back economic activities of the communities back to live.
