Enugu Intl. Airport Reopening: Onyejeocha Thanks Buhari, Sirika, Ugwuanyi For Job Well Done

The Deputy Chief Whip House Of Representatives and member Representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal constituency, Hon. Barr. (Dame) Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari, Hon. Minister of Aviation and the Enugu State Governor for their effort towards reopening of Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu State.

Barr. Onyejeocha observed that the closure of the airport has brought untold hardship on air travellers that use the airport, especially the business community in the Southeast who are forced to use only the Sam Mbakwe airport in Imo State.

Speaking to DAILY NEWS REPORTERS Saturday evening, Onyejeocha said that, “the President Mohammadu Buhari’s timely intervention and efforts towards the reopening of the Airport shows that he is sensitive to the plight of travellers from the Southeast who use the airport”

In her words, “I want to commend President Mohammadu Buhari, Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika (@FAAN_Official) and the Enugu State Governor, His Excellency (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for their effort towards the reopening of Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu which is slated for today Sunday 30th of August, 2020. Despite the devastating effects of the COVID’19 Pandemic, air travelers in the region will find this as a huge relief as economic activities will be positively impacted”

“The federal government ably led by President Muhammadu Buhari, Hon. Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika and the Governor Ugwuanyi who provided security deserve huge credit for the job well-done” she added

It will be recalled that on October 27, 2017 Dame along side Members Of the 8th National Assembly’s Joint Committee on Aviation visited that Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu on Over Sight function and expressed disgust over the state of the Airport
