The Anambra state chapter of PDP has just suspended Chief Chris Uba and Chief Linus Ukachukwu from the party for 30 days.
In a letter to the National Chairman of PDP, Senator Iyorcha Ayu, signed by the acting state chairman, Comr Okey Asolo and the Publicity Secretary, Nnamdi Nwagwu, the state chapter said it suspended the two chieftains of the party over anti party activities and sabotage.
They alleged that the duo are conspiring to turn PDP Anambra into the agent of the ruling govt through what it called ‘a very wicked and crooked manner.’
Yesterday, Chief Chris Uba secured a court order through his loyalists which gave him total control of the PDP structures in 14 LGAs in Anambra state. This has led some PDP aspirants to threaten to defect to YPP instead of staying under the whims and caprices of the former godfather of Anambra politics.
It is not clear if the NWC led by Senator Ayu will approve the suspension. Meanwhile, what purpose will the 30 days suspension serve?
