Davido Shares How He Got Asake to Feature on his New Album ‘Timeless’

Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed how he got Asake, a fellow artist, to feature in his newly released album titled “Timeless.”

In an interview video that went viral on Friday, Davido stated that he has always been a fan of Asake, who is signed to YBNL Nation, due to his unique style and storylines.

According to Davido, he reached out to Olamide, the YBNL boss, before contacting Asake, and after Olamide agreed to the collaboration, Asake requested that Olamide be present when he records his verse.

Davido said, “I dm the bossman, Baddo, I didn’t write Asake first o, I went to my brother first, so I cornered him, I wrote ola like Baddo I am doing my album and need Asake on a verse and he said send it nau, I can’t tell you no nau. Who has Asake verse? I am not sure Asake would even give anybody Asake verse.”

He continued, “Asake sent the verse and it was fire, I said Baddo nice one, so we signed, cleared and delivered.”

Davido released his “Timeless” album in November 2021, which features several renowned Nigerian and international artists. The album has been well received by fans and critics alike.
