Labour Party Presidential Candidate Raises Alarm over Impersonation and Framing Plot in UK

Mr Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has expressed concern over an alleged plot to impersonate and frame him in the United Kingdom. According to reports, the former Anambra State governor recently returned to Nigeria from London where he celebrated Easter. He claimed to have been harassed and detained by immigration officials in the UK over impersonation but was rescued by the spontaneous reaction of Nigerians at Heathrow Airport.

In a statement issued by the Obi-Datti media team, it was revealed that the immigration officials questioned Obi on a duplication offence, meaning that someone had been impersonating him in London. The team claimed that the impersonator was still at large and that Obi could be implicated in various illegal activities.

The Obi-Datti Media office noted that the former Anambra State Governor has been under attack since the February presidential election, where he came third out of 18 contestants as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The group claimed that Obi’s supporters and international observers believed that he won the election but was manipulated out.

The statement also alleged that Obi’s telephone line was bugged, and the Federal Government attempted to de-market him and accuse him of treason. It added that Obi remained undeterred and was ready to pursue whichever path his creator destined for him in Nigeria.

The Obi-Datti media team urged all persons of goodwill, especially the Obidients, to support Obi and not be swayed by the alleged attempts to frame him.
