Davido reveals he spent almost N1bn on ‘A Better Time’ album

Afrobeat sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he spent almost N1 billion ($2 million) on his third studio album titled ‘A Better Time’.

The Nigerian artist disclosed this during a media tour for his latest album ‘Timeless’ in the United States. He explained that the huge sum covered expenses such as features, videos, and promotions.

During an appearance on the Ebro in the Morning Show on Hot 97FM, New York, Davido stated that he spent more on ‘A Better Time’ than his current album ‘Timeless’ but has already made more money from it.

“My last album, I will tell you, I probably spent $2 million. That is for everything. You know what I’m saying? I haven’t even spent $300k on this album [Timeless]. And I made more already in three days. It just shows me the level of where African music is going,” he said.

‘A Better Time’ was released in 2020 and featured notable American artists such as Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Young Thug, Lil Baby, and Summer Walker.
