The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on Nigerian Christians to remain hopeful, steadfast and prayerful in the face of the nation’s challenges. The chairman of CAN in Niger state, Rev. Bulud Yohanna, gave this charge in his Easter message titled “Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.”
Rev. Yohanna said that with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which brings about hope, Niger state would rise from all its challenges and be proud of the state again in the name of Jesus Christ.
He encouraged Christians to be transparent in their dealings, showing others through their lives of love, mercy, compassion and self-sacrifice that the risen Jesus is living in their hearts.
The CAN chairman thanked God for a peaceful governorship and state House of Assembly elections and prayed that God would grant the newly-elected leaders the wisdom and resources to lead the people.
Rev. Yohanna called on God to fast-track the resurrection of the state and Nigeria from all her pains and challenges so that those who have suffered in the nation may eat of the good of the nation. He commended security agencies for all they were doing to nip insecurity in the bud, especially for the supreme price some of them had paid.
The cleric urged the Christian faithful to use the Easter celebrations to show love to the less-privileged in society by sharing gifts to the needy, widows, and orphans within their environment.
