What Davido Answered Journalist Who Queried Why His Album “Timeless” Had No Reference to Son’s Death

Afrobeats superstar, Davido, has addressed why his latest album “Timeless” did not include any reference to the death of his son, Ifeanyi. Davido, who lost his son in October 2022 and took a hiatus before releasing his new body of work in March this year, responded to a journalist’s question about why he did not mention the incident in the album.

Speaking at a press conference on April 17, the journalist queried why the album was perceived by some people as too party-oriented and not soulful enough, given what Davido had gone through. In response, the singer said that while there are emotions, he has always been a happy person, even when going through tough times.

He further explained that while he may choose to talk about the incident in the future, the album was not the appropriate platform for that. The singer’s explanation sheds light on the creative process behind his latest project, and how he chooses to express himself through his music.
