UNILAG Gets First Female Vice Chancellor

The Governing Council of the University of Lagos has appointed a Professor of Medical Microbiology and a Consultant Clinical Microbiologist and Infection Control at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Folasade Ogunsola, as the 13th substantive vice-chancellor for the University.

The University of Lagos’ Governing Council has approved the appointment of Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola, FAS, as the university’s 13th Vice-Chancellor.

The appointment was announced at the conclusion of a special Council meeting held on Friday, October 7, 2022.

Professor Ogunsola’s appointment is for five (5) years, beginning on Saturday, November 12, 2022, and ending on Thursday, November 11, 2027.

Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, on behalf of the University’s Management, staff, and students, congratulates Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola, FAS on her appointment and wishes her a prosperous term.
