Anambra State PDP Crisis: Chukwudi Umeaba emerges acting State Chairman

The Anambra state PDP crisis has taken a new turn with the emergence of Sir. Chukwudi Umeaba as a factional state chairman of the party. Sir Umeaba was the deputy chairman of the Caretaker Committee constituted in 2017 by the NWC under the leadership of Prof ABC Nwosu.
After the 2017 governorship election, Prof ABC Nwosu resigned leaving Sir Umeaba as the chairman of the Caretaker Committee. 
In 2018, the NWC of PDP in a letter dated September 5th, 2018, directed Deacon Austin Umahi, the Southeast zonal Vice Chairman of the party to inaugurate the elected PDP LG Chairmen. Umahi complied and eventual inaugurated them on September 29th, 2018 at the PDP Zonal office in Enugu. 
But for the reasons best known to Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, the embattled state chairman of PDP, he refused to recognise and work with the inaugurated LG chairmen instead he created a parallel LG/Ward Executive. 
The recognised and inaugurated LG executive approached a Federal High Court in Abuja, which made an Order on December 17, 2019 sacking Ndubuisi Nwobu led EXCO and asked that Sir. Chukwudi Umeaba Caretaker EXCO to go on and conduct a state congress.
That order recognised Sir Chukwudi Umeaba as the acting state chairman of PDP pending the determination of the substantive suit and it still subsisting.
Just last week, that’s June 19, 2020 the case came up for hearing and Barr. Clem Ezika who is Ndubuisi Nwobu’s lawyer made an application for the court to vacate the Order recognising Umeaba as the acting state chairman of PDP Anambra state and the judge, Justice Ekwo declined and ruled against his application. 
With the court declining to vacate its judgement of December 17, 2019, Umeaba remains the authentic state chairman of PDP Anambra state. The implication is that the order was renewed on June 19, 2020 by the refusal of the court to vacate it. 
The Umeaba led state exco will meet tomorrow and formally takeover the running and administration of PDP Anambra state.
