While Prof Soludo claimed that the investment Peter Obi made in Anambra state is next to nothing, it is regrettable that Nwa Mgbafor is not even making any investment in the statement, he is rather destroying, frustrating and chasing investors and businesses out of the state.
This is a first-hand experience of an entrepreneur who relocated to Awka and built one of the trending eateries in the state.
Below is what Obalende Awka wrote on how the administration of Prof Soludo is frustrating his business with multiple taxations.
This piece is written by Obalende Awka crying for help that Prof Soludo is killing businesses in Anambra state with senseless taxes.

“MULTIPLE TAXATION IN THE GUISE OF REVENUE DRIVES…or maybe the touts have changed tactics.
This revenue issue in Anambra State is becoming both punitive and oppressive. I am using this medium to complain because I believe ours is not the only business that is affected.
Just today alone, we got three different Demand notices of payments totalling over 125,000 for the following
1. Sanitary inspection
2. Registration of food/water Establishment
3. Food handlers test payment and training
5. Handlers medical examination and certification
6. Fumigation certificate
All these are from the Ministry of Environment and Awka South LGA. We are even beginning to doubt if these are approved levies from the Anambra State Government
Just 3 weeks ago our business was locked up for failure to pay N360,000 for ASWAMA levies for 2021 and 2022 when we opened Obalende Awka for business in September 2021. Thereafter, the restaurant was opened 5days after we were forced to pay N180,000 as Aswama Levy and business registration for 2022. How fair is this?
While we understand the need to pay for business permits, levies and income taxes to support the giant developmental strides of the present Government, it is important to state here that these multiple taxes are hurting businesses and crippling economic activities.
We humbly and passionately appeal to His Excellency Gov Charles Soludo to revisit these obnoxious and toxic taxes cum levies given the level of inflation and cost of surviving in this present clime.
This is just a simple complaint, not an indictment.”
